v0.03a [alpha]

Quite a few new features were added in this update. There's still a ways to go in making this project what I envision, but it's steadily getting there. I hope you enjoy this latest update all the same!

Features:

  • Added an extended palette with 256 colors to choose from.
  • Added a most recent color bar that lists the 32 most recent colors used.
  • Added paint mode.
  • Added 1/2/4 sized brush modes.
  • Added gizmos for transforming objects in the world.
  • Added a spawn point for the player to start at.
  • Added a kill height for if the player falls off the level.
  • Added basic support for audio.
  • Added default background audio and footstep sounds.
  • Added support for undo and redo.
  • Added a chunk mesh optimizer.
  • Added the first version of standalone build support.
  • Added a text localization system.
  • Added additional UI elements for quick access to these new features.
  • Added the ability to take screenshots in both the editor and builds with F5.

Changes:

  • Blocks can now be 1/4 the size.
  • Reworked the UI system so that UIs are put together with scripts.
  • Made the block selection marker a volume so that it works better with the varied brush sizes.
  • Optimized the physics system.
  • New projects now exist in a directory as opposed to a single file.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a couple of multi-threading bugs.
  • Fixed an issue where input was still gathered when the window was out of focus.
  • Fixed some typos.
